I’m On Break

These days, most of Lyddie’s feeds are of what I call the “wham, bam, thank you ma’am” variety.
She climbs onto my lap, turns her head sideways to let me know she wants a feed, she feeds, she is gone.
But before naps and before bedtime she feeds for longer.
I love those moments.
I love that it is just the two of us, I love that it is quiet, I love that I get a ten minute break from actively being a mother.
I generally play on my phone.  Instagram is my go to but sometimes I end up venturing to the far reaches of the Internet.
Most of what I come across is rubbish.
But sometime I discover things that are interesting or that make me smile.
I thought I would share some of the better pages I have come across with you!

Drunk Girls Get Surprised With Puppies
The name of this YouTube clip says it all.

I love these photos of women breastfeeding.

For those following along with Serial and Undisclosed, there is good news for Adnan Syed.

This puts passion and priorities in perspective.

I could relate to so much of this.
“I muddled forward, hoping I was doing well enough at this whole mothering thing, a job for which I had zero official training and zero experience, taking care of a child who, at times, quite frankly terrified me. I had no performance reviews to tell me I was doing just fine. I just had a baby, often a crying one, seemingly confirming that maybe I wasn’t cut out for this after all. I craved the office. I craved feedback. I craved the self-assured confidence that I used to take for granted when I had a job with a boss and regular hours. There was a lingering sense of shame that I couldn’t shake when friends and family members asked when I was going back to work.”

I know Thanksgiving isn’t celebrated in Australia, but this is applicable to any holiday.

And speaking of the holidays, I think these cookie cutter selfies would make a brilliant present.  I kind of want to gift a cookie cutter selfie to myself!
